It sure is fun and feels good to make a difference by doing something so simple.
Today we took some time to pick up trash off of our playground. Now that the snow is all gone, the children found a lot of things to clean up! It sure looks much better outside! Thanks kindergartners for your helping hands!!

Everyone enjoyed our field trip to The Works interactive museum today! As you can see in the photos the children had many opportunities to explore different types of items.
Enjoy the BEAUTIFUL weekend!
This week the children have been working with two story creator apps on the iPads.
The Farmers Lunch and My Bike Ride are both free apps that allow the children to write their own stories, record their own voice and share it with others. As always I am amazed at how quickly the children take charge and run the apps! "Sharing our stories on the Big Screen is awesome!!"
"I am proud when all of my friends clap for me!" In science we are learning about fabric. We learned that fabric can be made from different things like plants, wool, silk worms and even oil. Today the children used yarn to weave their own piece of "fabric." They did a great job and really enjoyed the process!
For a limited time the iPad app Construct A Car is free. We used it today in school to build and "test drive" some cool cars.
If you are interested in getting this interesting app for your iPad do it soon before the price goes up. http://littlebeetle.net/apps/constructor.htm We met up with our friends in First grade today to share Book Reviews. The children did a nice job telling about their favorite books.
On Tuesday we had a wonderful opportunity to meet & listen to the Bishop of Sudan tell us about his life and travels.
This week as we celebrate the wonderful season of Easter, the children are busy working in different learning centers.
The mystery egg homework has also been fun. The children had great clues and did a great job reading them to the class.
At St. John's we are collecting money for the Living Water Program to help people in Kitui, Kenya get & conserve water in their country.
Each student brought home a water bottle for collecting money in during April and a calendar for daily information and prayers to use as a guide at home. The students have been asked to bring their money in by the end of April. We actually had 2 water bottles returned today - filled with money! WOW- that was amazing!! Any amount your family is able to contribute will be appreciated. Of course, keeping the people of Kenya in our daily prayers is also very important!! |
