Our wonderful room parents planned such a great party for the children. They had delicious treats, fun games with a ton of prizes, and a fun craft activity. It was so fun to see all of the great costumes! Thanks to our Room Parents, Heidi & Grace for a terrific afternoon! We all had a Happy Halloween Party!! Enjoy the slide show below. I am so proud of how well the Kindergarten class prayed at our school's Living Rosary prayer time on Tuesday. It was nice to see the children carefully following along on their new Rosary. They also enjoyed standing up and leading one decade of Hail Mary's along with the First Grade class. Later, I asked the class what they thought about being a part of the Living Rosary many children said it was really fun! When I asked what they liked best, one child said "the prayer between the two colors" (The Glory Be) was his favorite part! I hope you all enjoyed the beautiful fall weather over the long weekend!
Just a note there is NO HOPKINS BUS tomorrow MORNING! They are having a 2 HOUR Late Start & St. John's is on REGULAR Schedule!! Busses will be on the regular afternoon schedule. Tomorrow morning we will be praying the Rosary with the entire school. I have a Rosary for each child so they will NOT need to bring one from home. We practiced this morning and the Kindergartners really know their prayers! They will be bringing home their new Rosary tomorrow. I just realized it has been a while since I updated our Kindergarten Blog. We have been busy these past few weeks learning about leaves and colors. I am very proud of how hard the children are working at kid writing time. Today everyone got a fun halloween pencil to help them continue being great writers! I can not wait to show you their work at conferences on Nov. 1st. Here are a few photos from the past 2 weeks: While waiting for their turn to paint a fall tree the children chose to play school with their whiteboards. We certainly have some great teachers in training. :) It is precious to watch them play together so nicely! On H day the children were very careful using a push pin to make holes in their paper to show upper & lowercase H. The grasp used to hold the pushpin strengthens the muscles needed for the proper pencil grip. As you can see the kids loved this activity. They were all very careful. Thank you for helping your child find so many great leaves for our science lessons! It was great to see so many extra special people were able to join us for our special Mass and "Down on the Farm" program on Wednesday! The children are so lucky to have special people in their lives who came from near & far to visit for the morning. We prayed for all of the grandparents who were not able to be with us on our school's Grandparents Day! God Bless all Grandparents & Special Friends!!
See the photo tab at the top for more photos from Grandparents Day. Congratulations!!!
The students reached the school goal to earn a Non Uniform Day on Monday Oct. 4th. They also met the goal to earn a trip to the Children's Museum. Way to go!! Thanks to the Benilde St. Margaret’s Dance Line for visiting and performing for us at today’s final Marathon pep-fest! See you at the Marathon on Saturday from 11:00am-2:00pm. Have A Great Weekend! The Hopkins Fire Chief & two firefighters visited our classroom on Thursday morning. They did a fun and informative presentation on fire safety. We practiced Stop, Drop & Roll and Crawl Low in Smoke. Have you checked the smoke detectors in your home lately? Talk with your children about your family's safe meeting place. See more photos soon to be added in the photos section at the top. We also had our Bus Safety Presentation on the same day! |
