Family and friends are welcome to attend this very special event!
The children are enjoying learning all about the Nativity story as we prepare for our kindergarten Christmas play. Our poem charts and nativity play sets have been popular learning tools - even at choice time!
We are looking forward to presenting our play next Wednesday, December 5th, at 10:30 in the gym.

I can not tell you how much fun today was!!! From start to finish the kids had a very busy day. We spent much of our day in the cafeteria with our friends in First Grade celebrating our 50th Day of school in 1950's style. The children were all so well behaved & extremely appreciative with great manners! It was AWESOME to hear many of them say things like "This is the best day of my ENTIRE life!"... "It just keeps getting better & better!" ... ETC. I took a few photos: :) We worked hard to incorporate learning into all activities of our celebration today.
Over the course of this week, the children learned alot about life in the 1950's (the past). Many wonderful things came out of the 1950's. Ask your child to tell you about his or her favorite activities of the day. This week our focus is on the number 50 as we prepare for our 50th day of school. We thought it would be nice if we could team up with the first grade class and try to bring in 50 food items for the local ICA Food Shelf.
We were so excited as we made our final count this morning before Mass! Kindergarten alone brought in 39 items and the 1st grade class brought in 44 items. WOW!!! -83 items- We went well OVER our goal & nearly doubled the amount we were hoping to collect! Thank you for helping us reach and go beyond our goal to share with those less fortunate than us. We can not wait to celebrate the 50th Day of School tomorrow! We are all looking forward to traveling back in time to celebrate the number 50.
My name is Tom Turkey
And I am as scared as can be. I'm wearing my disguise so you won't catch me! The children did a great job working with their families on a home-project. Look at how cute they turned out: If you still have your turkey Tom at home- it is not too late to finish your project & turn it in as soon as possible!
Our friend Emily had surgery this week & has to miss a few days of school. We have been praying for her & hope all is going well. We have a message for her: Get well soon Emily- we miss you!
Our week of testing is off to a great start! Thanks for sending your children to school on time, well rested & well fed. It really makes a big difference in attention span. Testing is exhausting work! The children are really working hard to do their best listening & following directions. I had to smile when I saw what was made at the writing center during free choice time today.
God Bless the USA! ~ Definitely the perfect message for Election Day!! : ) |
