On Monday we all enjoyed an online story of The Polar Express book by Chris Van Allsburg. We reviewed the events of the story in our "book walk." Later in the day Mrs. Nelson rushed in with a very mysterious very cold package for our class. Inside were freezing cold silver bells ~ just like the boy got from Santa in the story! The children were very surprised & we enjoyed listening to the beautiful sound of the ringing bells during the day. Christmas is such a fun & magical time! The children and I would like to thank all of our family and friends who were able to join us for our Nativity play. It was a lot of fun. I think the children did an outstanding job remembering everything we had practiced. For being only 5 & 6 years old, their stage presence in front of a big audience was amazing! I am so proud of my class! It was pretty cute that afterwards they were sad that it was all over ~ they wanted to do it again! :)
We were sad that Mya had to miss the play but we know she is having lots of fun too! (Click on a photo to see it larger) We had an awesome day! All of the children did an EXCELLENT job in their dress rehearsal for the Preschoolers this morning!! I am very proud of them. It was fun to do our play in front of a little audience. We can not wait to perform for all of our families and friends tomorrow! We finally got a chance to do our St. Nick art project. Take a peek at the Kindergarten children in action making their own Santa. They sure turned out pretty cute. Be sure to check them out next time you visit our hallway at school. We were all surprised by a visit from St. Nick today.
He came to our classroom and shared his story of how he was a special helper of God. He spent his life helping the poor. The children were in awe! He gave the children a little candy cane treat to celebrate St. Nick's Day. |
