The Kindergarten & First Grade students celebrated our 50th Day of School on Thursday, Nov. 17th. We had a lot of fun learning about what life was like back in 1950’s. We compared it to our lives in 2011. We had a Sock Hop complete with dancing, root beer floats, bubble gum, hula hoops & even a bowling relay! The children also played with some classic games and toys from the 50’s. Each student also decorated his or her own record. We all really had a BLAST!! I am very proud of the children for having self control and tons of fun at the same time. WOW can they do the Hand Jive, Twist & Limbo!! The dancing was just precious. Thanks to our families for putting time & effort into finding a 50's Day outfit for your child today. Everyone looked so cool!
Thank you to Mr. Tangney for working at our Malt Shop this afternoon.
Fun Fact: Our St. John's School opened in 1950.
WARNING: I went a little crazy with my camera today. The children were so cute I could not resist!
